SEO platform publishing large-scale studies of brand visibility inside AI answers.

Two items, and they are the same dataset seen twice. In July 2026 Semrush published an analysis of ChatGPT visibility across 50,000 brands, finding most topics have no clearly dominant brand and arguing AI visibility accrues at the topic level rather than to individual pages or keywords. Later that month Kevin Indig analyzed six months of Semrush's ChatGPT citation data — 1,094 U.S. categories, five prompts each, more than 600,000 citations — and found only 15.2% of categories have a single clearly leading brand, and that the most-cited domain matched the most-mentioned brand only 20.8% of the time. Both are vendor-published. The record carries no Semrush product news and no second measurer's read on the same question.
