Authors amend Anthropic suit, add claims against Amodei
A First Amended Complaint in Shakespeare v. Anthropic adds several new plaintiffs and, for the first time in the case, names CEO Dario Amodei directly, per Chat GPT Is Eating the World, which obtained the filing. The amendment adds a direct-infringement allegation against Amodei and a new contributory-infringement claim against Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann.
Why it matters: Personal-liability theories against Anthropic's founders, not just the company, raise the stakes in the training-data litigation that underlies Claude.
