Google's first-party reporting surface for site owners — including its newer generative-AI performance data.
Three items, moving in one direction: Google's own console is becoming the first-party instrument for AI-surface measurement. Search Central announced generative-AI performance reporting in Search Console in June 2026, giving sites impression and click data for AI surfaces rather than third-party estimates. Platform properties finished a staggered global rollout on July 29 — Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts can be verified as Search Console properties with Performance and Insights reports, the first property type requiring no website at all. The same console carries the cost side: its AI opt-out, used to exclude content from AI Overviews, may also remove a publisher from the Top Stories carousel now running inside them, per an analysis Google has not confirmed.
