ChatGPT Ads Manager adds a plugin for ChatGPT and Codex
OpenAI rolled out a bundle of ChatGPT Ads Manager updates, per Search Engine Roundtable: a plugin that lets advertisers create, edit and troubleshoot campaigns from within ChatGPT or Codex using natural language, expanded custom-audience controls including sub-25,000-user exclusions and Google Advertising ID support, added conversion-matching fields for hashed phone and name data, and pacing for total-budget campaigns. OpenAI also expanded ChatGPT Ads to more countries across Europe, India, the Middle East and North Africa, and previewed a conversion-optimization model built on view-through data. Separately, analyst Juozas Kaziukėnas found that ChatGPT’s shopping results now appear limited to brands that submit product feeds — an observation OpenAI has not confirmed.
Why it matters: Folding campaign management into a natural-language plugin inside ChatGPT and Codex turns ad operations into an agentic, conversational task rather than a dashboard one — a template OpenAI is likely to extend elsewhere.
