Search Console defines Image, Video, News search types
Google’s Search Console performance report help page now gives its Image, Video, and News search-type filters their own one-line definitions: traffic from the Google Images tab, the Google Videos tab, and the Google News tab plus the news search results view, respectively. AEO Wire’s documentation watch flagged the omission on 2026-09-24, when only the “Web” filter’s split into text-based and multimodal search had been spelled out; Google does not date individual help-page edits, so the exact change date is unconfirmed.
Why it matters: It closes a definitional gap AEO Wire flagged on 2026-09-24 — three search-type filters that previously had no inline description now do, giving site owners a first-party basis for reading search-type breakdowns in performance data.
