Cloudflare AI Search goes GA, bills $0.75 per million tokens

Cloudflare’s AI Search — a managed retrieval pipeline combining Workers AI, Vectorize, R2 and Browser Run — moved from preview to general availability on October 1, 2026, with usage billing starting November 1, per Cloudflare’s announcement. Ingestion costs $0.75 per million tokens (plus $0.50 per million for image tokens), storage $2 per GB-month, and queries $0.75 per 1,000 semantic or $0.10 per 1,000 full-text searches, after a free monthly allotment of 5 million ingestion tokens, 10 GB storage, and 1,000 queries of each kind on every Workers plan. The release also adds native image embeddings via the Qwen3-VL-Embedding model and OCR support for scanned PDFs, and raises the per-file size limit from 4 MiB to 10 MiB.

Why it matters: It's a concrete, published price for AI-era retrieval infrastructure — the kind of RAG tooling several vendors have kept in free preview — as Cloudflare turns on metered billing for it.
