Google tests add-to-calendar links in AI Overviews
Google is testing an “add to calendar” link on event dates inside some AI Overviews, per Search Engine Roundtable. Khushal Bherwani first spotted the link in a screenshot on X and later saw it disappear on an identical, refreshed query; Search Engine Roundtable’s Barry Schwartz could not reproduce it in his own testing. Google has not confirmed the test.
Why it matters: Calendar actions would push AI Overviews from displaying information toward completing a task directly on the results page, extending a run of surface tests Google has shipped to AI Overviews this fall.
