Yelp, Delta and banks block AI shopping and booking agents

Users of AI agents including Meta’s Muse, xAI’s Grok and OpenAI’s Dots are hitting blocks on major sites that used to let them through, per The Verge. Yelp told TechCrunch it only allows AI agents that pay into its data-licensing program; Delta Air Lines is blocking agents from booking tickets; JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab both confirmed blocking agents from customer accounts, citing security — JPMorgan’s CEO raised it on the bank’s earnings call, and Schwab’s CEO told Bloomberg the same. Some users also report Cars.com and Amtrak no longer working with agents, which The Verge notes neither company has confirmed.

Why it matters: As AI agents move from answering questions to taking actions like booking and buying, the companies on the other end of those actions are drawing access lines case by case, with no shared standard for which agents get through.
