Spammers flood Google Search with Gemini Notebook pages
Black-hat SEOs are publishing public Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) pages as a parasite-SEO tactic, riding the product’s domain authority into Google’s index, per Search Engine Roundtable. The pages cover sex toys, adult content, peptides, coupon codes and apps; Google has indexed more than 12,000 of them and has not removed them or commented publicly. Charles Floate first flagged the pattern on X, with Gagan Ghotra and Glenn Gabe amplifying it.
Why it matters: It's a new parasite-SEO pattern riding a Google AI product's own domain authority into the index — the same abuse cycle Search Engine Roundtable's Barry Schwartz says has followed past Google product launches.
