Google tests AI Overviews below hotel knowledge panels
Google appears to be testing a new position for AI Overviews on hotel search results, moving them from the top of the page to beneath the hotel knowledge panel. SEO professional Lluc Penycate shared desktop and mobile screenshots of the change on X, per Search Engine Roundtable. Google has not confirmed the test.
Why it matters: A shift away from top-of-page placement, even limited to one query type, is worth tracking given how much this year's publisher CTR fights have centered on where the AI Overview sits.
