Google confirms Nov 13 cutoff for AI Plus Pro access
Google has begun emailing AI Plus subscribers a firm date for losing Gemini Pro access: November 13, 2026, per 9to5Google. The wire reported this cutoff Oct 4, when Google said only that it would email each AI Plus subscriber an effective date rather than apply one uniformly; some outlets had separately cited Oct 9, which passed without the change taking effect for Plus subscribers. After Nov 13, manually selecting Pro models in the Gemini app and in AI Mode within Google Search becomes exclusive to AI Pro ($19.99/month) and AI Ultra subscribers; AI Plus ($4.99/month) keeps Flash and Flash-Lite only. Google’s documentation still gives no reason for the tightening, and the compute-based usage limits tied to each tier remain undisclosed in absolute terms.
Why it matters: Google has now resolved the open question from its own Oct 4 policy change — not whether AI Plus would lose Pro access, but when — while still leaving unpublished what multiple of its \"standard\" compute allowance any tier actually gets.
