Google adds a Search profile badge for websites

Google Search Central published new documentation on Sept. 16, 2026 explaining how website owners, publishers, or creators with a Google Search profile — a page that aggregates their content from their site and platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Facebook into one Google destination — can add a badge to their site linking visitors to that profile. Google states that doing so “makes your content that’s linked on your Search profile…more likely to appear for your audience on Google Discover.” A site owner must first claim their Search profile before adding the badge.

Why it matters: It's a Discover-visibility incentive tied directly to claiming and linking a Search profile, giving creators and publishers a stated reason to consolidate their cross-platform presence under Google's own aggregation page rather than leave it implicit.
