Google Web Guide's classic search button doesn't work
A bug in Google’s beta Web Guide keeps some users from exiting back to standard search results, per Search Engine Roundtable. SEO consultant Damien Andell first flagged the issue on X on September 20, and Glenn Gabe confirmed hitting it intermittently the same morning, describing himself as “stuck in Web Guide and can’t get out.” Andell also reported some result links rendering as broken “null://null” text instead of a site name; Google has not commented, and the report notes most searchers are not using the opt-in Web Guide interface.
Why it matters: A rough edge in Google's AI-blended search interface — even the switch meant to let users opt back out of it is unreliable.
