Google AI Mode adds booking and quote links for home service businesses
What this answers
- Can people book home services through Google AI Mode?
- In the U.S., yes, per Google Search VP Robby Stein's Nov. 4 post, which says AI Mode now carries direct booking and quote links through partners including Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber, with ServiceTitan coming soon.
- Does Google charge home service businesses lead fees for AI Mode bookings?
- Jobber and Housecall Pro both say they charge no lead fee for AI Mode requests, per Search Engine Journal. Angi's announcement does not say whether its fees apply to requests that start in AI Mode.
Google Search VP Robby Stein said on X on Nov. 4 that AI Mode now carries direct booking and quote links for home services in the U.S., through partners Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber, with ServiceTitan “coming soon”, per Search Engine Journal. Google announced plans for agentic booking of local services at I/O in May.
Eligibility runs through the partner platform. Per SEJ, Jobber says businesses need a paid subscription and a Google Business Profile connected at the same address; Housecall Pro says all its pros are auto-enrolled with no Business Profile required, though its release says the integration is still coming. Jobber and Housecall Pro both say no lead fees. Angi’s announcement does not say whether its fees apply, and SEJ notes Thumbtack had issued no release as of Nov. 4. Stein’s post does not describe how Google chooses which businesses to show.
Why it matters: Google's AI answer surface is now handing off the final booking step to named partner platforms, so for home service businesses eligibility depends on which software or marketplace they use, not on anything they publish.
