ChatGPT Ads creative enhancements switch on by default for all campaigns
What this answers
- Is ChatGPT Ads creative enhancements on by default?
- Yes. Per OpenAI's help page as reported by Search Engine Journal, creative enhancements turned on by default for new and existing ChatGPT Ads campaigns starting Oct. 30, 2026, and earlier opt-outs at account or campaign level stay in place.
- How do I opt out of ChatGPT Ads creative enhancements?
- Advertisers can change the setting at any time under Manage settings in Ads Manager. Account-level settings act as the default, and campaign-level settings take precedence.
OpenAI turned on “creative enhancements” by default for new and existing ChatGPT Ads campaigns starting Oct. 30, per OpenAI’s help page as reported by Search Engine Journal. The setting lets the ad system rewrite headlines and descriptions, translate ad text, resize images and change the destination URL to suit the conversation, without the advertiser approving each version; Ads Manager does not preview every variant. Existing account- or campaign-level opt-outs stay in force.
Per Search Engine Journal, OpenAI’s page does not say how tracking parameters such as UTM tags carry over when the destination URL changes, whether advertisers can exclude pages, or how the setting relates to the text-customization option OpenAI introduced Sept. 16. It also names no report that breaks out enhanced versions. The change was previewed in an Oct. 20 advertiser email, which the wire logged at the time.
Why it matters: Ad copy and landing pages that an engine rewrites per conversation, without advertiser review of each version, move ChatGPT Ads closer to the auto-generated formats of Google's own ad products, and leave tracking and reporting as the open questions.
